The first thing I learned in the course called The Why and How of Computing is how to make a sandwich. A peanut butter jam sandwich, not the complicated kinds with ham, lettuce, and egg like you'd imagine. While watching a computer science professor struggle to open a jar of peanut butter, I was wondering what led me to take such a stupid course. However, soon, the professor started to explain the intention of his performance.
Even an operation as simple as this (perhaps even 5 year-old can do) requires a set of detailed steps to complete, if a machine were to do it.
Computer, then, must be an incredibly sophisticated invention, invented and developed by geniuses.
Although I spend a considerable amount of time typing on my keyboard, clicking on thousands of emoticons, staring at blank pages waiting for my mailbox to open everyday, I never pondered on the complex details behind the screen, inside the simple, slick facade of my computer.
Maybe taking this course will help me understand my inseparable friend better. Fascinating!

Yay! I hope you will enjoy this course and learn about all the magic hiding in computer science! :D
